  1. As a solo artist, Gerlach took on the name DJ Tonka and began producing house music, with influences from synthpop and the American garage house scene. He achieved some notoriety as a remixer, reworking tunes such as "Trapped" for disco artist Colonel Abrams, "Love Shack" for The B's and "Push It" for Salt-N-Pepa.

  4. i got into DJ Tonka a few years back when i first heard his tune Don't Be Afraid which is a house classic. He doesn't let down on this compilation. It's a great CD which has DJ Tonkas signature House sound. Most songs are short snippets which only last between the 2- 3 min mark, this is enough to warrant replay as they are all fantastic tunes/5(9).
